Terms of Service

Last updated: April 21, 2026

TL;DR — Willow is a garden planning app. Use it for garden planning (shocking, we know). Don't do anything illegal or harmful with it, pay for your subscription if you're on a paid plan, and understand that we're a small team doing our best. You can cancel anytime. The full terms below are the legally binding ones.

1. What this agreement covers

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Willow ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Willow at meetwillow.app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service — no hard feelings.

2. What Willow does

Willow is a garden planning application. It lets you design garden beds in 3D, track plantings, keep a journal, log harvests, and chat with an AI assistant about gardening. We also send you weather-based alerts and planting suggestions based on your location and growing zone.

3. Your account

To use Willow, you need an account. When you create one, you agree that:

  • The information you provide is accurate.
  • You'll keep your login credentials secure. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
  • You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • You'll let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Age requirements

You must be at least 14 years old to create a Willow account. Users under 18 are subject to additional privacy protections, including restricted photo uploads and automatic chat message deletion. If you're under 14, we'd love to help you garden someday, but for now, please come back when you're a bit older.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Willow offers a paid subscription plan (Willow Pro) at $25/year, with a 14-day free trial. Free accounts for verified schools are also available.

  • Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Creem. When you subscribe, you're also agreeing to Creem's terms.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each year.
  • You can cancel anytime through your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
  • Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're unhappy, just reach out and we'll figure it out.
  • Prices may change, but we'll give you notice before your next renewal if they do.
  • Local sales tax or VAT may apply depending on your location. Creem handles tax calculation and collection.

6. Acceptable use

This is a garden planner. We trust you to be reasonable. That said, you agree not to:

  • Use Willow for anything illegal or to facilitate harm to others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the service.
  • Upload malicious content, malware, or anything that could compromise the service.
  • Misuse the AI assistant — it's here to help with gardening, not to be tricked into writing your novel.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our permission.

If we believe you're violating these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account. We'll try to give you a heads-up first, but we reserve the right to act immediately if necessary.

7. Your content

Everything you create in Willow — garden layouts, journal entries, photos, harvest records — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your content. We do need a limited license to store, display, and process your content in order to operate the service (we can't show you your garden without technically "displaying" it). This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

You can export all your data at any time from your account settings.

8. AI assistant

Willow includes an AI-powered gardening assistant. A few things to keep in mind:

  • The assistant provides gardening suggestions, not professional agricultural, medical, or legal advice.
  • AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information, especially regarding plant toxicity, food safety, or anything where being wrong actually matters.
  • Your conversations are processed by a third-party AI provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Service availability

We do our best to keep Willow running smoothly, but we're a small team and things sometimes break. We don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may also need to take the service offline occasionally for maintenance. When possible, we'll give you advance notice.

10. Our intellectual property

The Willow application — its code, design, 3D models, plant database, and branding — is our property (or licensed to us) and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service. They don't give you ownership of anything except your own content.

11. Disclaimers

Willow is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service's fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, or accuracy. This includes the AI assistant's suggestions, weather data, planting calendars, and hardiness zone information.

We're a garden planner, not a guarantee that your tomatoes will thrive. Gardening involves nature, and nature does whatever it wants.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Willow's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or crop losses.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limitations. In those cases, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Termination

You can stop using Willow at any time. You can delete your account from Settings, and we'll remove all your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. If we do, we'll explain why (unless we're legally prevented from doing so). Sections that should logically survive termination — like limitation of liability and dispute resolution — will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Willow after that period constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with the changes, you can close your account before they take effect.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Florida. If you're in the EU, this doesn't affect your rights under mandatory local consumer protection laws.
